I really, really want to ride my bike outside this weekend! I can't believe I've only ridden it outside once since I got it on September 9th. I have ridden it a lot, but mostly on the trainer in my garage. Why? well, that's a good question. I guess mostly because I work full time and when I get up in the morning it is too dark outside to ride before work.
When I come home from work I still need to make dinner, play with the kids and get them ready for bed and by that time it's too dark outside to ride. The only days I can ride outside are Saturday or Sunday. My husband is training for a marathon he is running on October 31st and so he usually has a long run on one of those days. Also, the weekend is when I do most of the cleaning, grocery shopping and laundry.
In reality though...when there is a little bit of time left when I think I could probably go...I guess I feel kind of guilty leaving the family, even if it's for an hour.
This has got to change!
I am going to ride outside this weekend!!
I am. (sound convincing enough?)
I love riding outside, especially on the weekends when traffic is lighter (in the morning, at least). Have a wonderful ride!!
ReplyDeleteYou WILL ride outside this weekend. Take an hour for YOU!
ReplyDeleteI know, it's really hard making the time between all the responsibilities. I, too, feel guilty when I take off on the weekends to do a longer exercise session :( I always try to go during nap time but then I miss out on nice quiet time with my hubby or time when I can get chores done. Good luck finding the balance. I always try to remind myself that it's good for the whole family when mom gets a break! Hope you can squeeze an outdoor ride in this weekend...or at least on the weekends after your hubs is done with marathon training.
ReplyDeletei know it is hard. i have been lucky to do a lot of my longs runs on Wednesdays when Izzie is in school. I have learned to leave a lot of things behind. sometimes i blow off laundry (not a good idea with 4 kids), but I feel like i need that hour for myself. make time for yourself this weekend and ride that bike!!!
ReplyDeleteYou've got to get out there if you have the chance....happy Mommy = happy family!!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it! and you'll be a better mommy for it;-)
ReplyDeletebut i sooo hear you on it all.
and you also work full time, so don't know how you find the time/energy!
but Rae said...you deserve the hour for you;)
Good luck getting out there--so much better than the trainer! I quite easily fall into a trainer pattern unless I really make the effort to get out.
ReplyDeleteYeah, get your butt out there and don't feel guilt about your family. A happy mama is a good mama AND you'll be one rocking example for your kids.
ReplyDeleteYes and it will be great! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHave a blast riding outside!
ReplyDeleteI rode outside yesterday and it was beautiful! I hope you got a chance to enjoy the weather and changing leaves!
