I planned on running Saturday morning when I first woke up. I wanted to run 7 miles and the first 5K was going to be for the Freeze Your Thorns Off 5K Virtual Race that Adam, who blogs over at The Boring Runner had organized. But, that would have to wait...you see, before the boys went to bed the previous night they heard it was going to snow. They were up bright and early to look out the window and once they saw the white stuff that was it. I've never seen them get dressed so fast. Here is a glimpse of what my Saturday morning looked like.
Then, of course, the boys had their ice skating lessons which was fun too. After that it was finally time for Mama to run! It was a balmy 29 degrees out when I left.I decided to run on the W & OD Trail. I wasn't sure if I was going to be warm enough with just a long sleeve shirt and no jacket but it turns out it was just right. I stayed warm enough the whole run with gloves, long sleeve shirt, running pants and a hat. There weren't many people out on the trail. There was a bit of ice and snow in spots but overall it was fine.I ran 7 miles on the trail. I looked at my watch at the 5K point and it read 29:25, which is about a 9:28 pace. I guess that's not bad considering there were icy patches that I slowed down for and I was taking pictures with my phone along the way too.
It's been fun reading everyone's race reports from Saturday. Thanks goes to Adam for organizing this fun event! I look forward to doing more in the future.

Congrats on your race! I can't believe you ran with just a long sleeve shirt, I was wearing 2 thermal l/s and a jacket! BRR!! :)
WOO HOO! Nice snow run!
You are tougher than I! I would need more than a long sleeve shirt! Looks like your boys had a lot of fun.
Looks like a fun day! How great to be sans jacket!
OH this sledding looks like so much fun!!! I totally miss the snow. We have not seen real snow this winter yet. I might have to drive to the mountains. Good to catch up with you....good job on your run! I love that so many people did this!

Lovely snow fun! I can imagine what my son would be like when he gets in the snow. Sounds like you had a great run as well.
Sorry that I am just getting to commenting...
Nice work on the run! I LOVED the pictures of the kids playing in the snow - really made me jealous of actually having snow. :(
